At the beginnings, the butter was handmade, as every household used to make it's own. Handmaking is not machine stamping. Handmaking meant and, as it still does, that imperfections make perfection.
The "Malfatto" Zanasi, as we familiarly like to call it, stands for this: it can be translated into "badly done" but it wouldn't do justice to the final product. The "Malfatto" is not badly done, on the contrary, it meets all the highest quality standards requested by our certificates (e.g. BRC Global Food Standard and IFS) and all the Italian Health Government institutions. The Malfatto Zanasi is a tribute to the origins of butter hand-making.
Like all our butter selection, the Malfatto Zanasi recipe is solely produced with 100% Italian milk cream and its blend has been prized with the 1st place at the Festival del Burro di Thiene (Miglior Burro di Zangolato di Creme), back in 2015. Its uniquely delicate yet rich flavor is achieved thanks to a refined selection for the milk creams blends used. Try it and see for yourself!
Now, 2021, we are proud to announce the new compostable pack, that made the Malfatto Zanasi the 2nd Italian butter with compostable packaging on the national scale.
What does "compostable" mean? When a pack is compostable it means that it can be recycled in the organic/waste bin, alongside any food waste you might produce. Before throwing it away, please remember to remove the metallic claps on the sides of the pack.
